Dear Disciples of Christ,
Welcome to Advent. This season is a time to reflect on the second coming of Jesus Christ and then the celebration of the birth of Our Savior. Stay awake, be ready is the message of our Lord. Simple and to the point.
You will notice that Christmas is the next day after the Fourth Sunday of Advent. Therefore the Fourth Sunday of Advent will have a different schedule and we will be having midnight Mass at 10 p. m., so really no midnight. I miss this custom, but it seems many of our parishioners prefer earlier.
In addition to the normal Reconciliation times, you can call for an appointment with any priest, and we will be hearing Confessions on Saturday, December 23rd from 9:00 a. m. until 12:00 noon.
There is so much happening and so much that will be happening in the parish. Please don’t forget our Auction coming up on Saturday, February 3, 2018. Please support that in any way you can.
Many of our 8th graders and parents will be heading to Washington D. C. for the Pro-Life March on January 19, 2018.
You will be contacted very soon regarding the remodel of the church basement, our Steering Committee would like to know your thoughts and opinions on what you would like to see in our church lower level and what activities you would like to see (meetings, etc.) there.
We are going to do some strategic planning for the parish, crystalize and focus on what Christ wants us to be accomplishing with a plan etc. If you are interested in serving on this team which will probably meet frequently for several months, please let me know.
We are also looking for some dedicated people to attend a ten Saturday once a month training on Missionary Disciples of Christ, who will then help all of us discuss our Catholic faith with joy and enthusiasm, to all be missionary disciples of Christ
